A Table

Posted by Leslie in Eating & Drinking, France

French Breakfast A sign of a good French host is the beauty of their table, the linens, the stemware, and sometimes the table itself.

French BreakfastAnd when it comes to breakfast this would include the quality of the bread, the fresh croissants, the local fruit, the coffee, and my personal favorite the homemade jams.

French BreakfastAs you can see, our host Monique sets high French standards for her table.

French BreakfastHer communal table was a beauty… and breakfast was so delicious it was followed by a thorough review of the number of rolls and croissants we each ate and with which jam.

French BreakfastWe even spoke to our neighbors, every morning!  A strange experience, because our table neighbors were French.

French BreakfastI’m certain it was Monique’s table, why move from a table this perfect?

Enjoy!

Rome, Italy If you fear the words “pasta” or “bread”, Rome isn’t for you.

Rome, ItalyTo truly enjoy Rome you should feel free to eat what you want…

Rome, ItalyCornetti (sweet croissants), cappuccini, gelato, panini, pasta, carciofi (artichokes) and pizza… and we haven’t even gotten to dinner.

Rome, ItalyThis is guilt free eating.

Rome, ItalyThis city knows how to enjoy life…

Rome, ItalyEspecially when sitting at a table to enjoy a meal.

Sweet MeringueWell… maybe these meringue cookies.

Sweet MeringueHe recently commented on one of my food posts, “Elles sont belles tes photos, ou tu les as prises?” (Your photos are beautiful, where did you take them?).  ”Je t’aime Leslie, a bientot.”  (I love you Leslie, see you soon).

Merci Edgar, je t’aime aussi.
