Last week I left the city for two days.  I traveled upstate NY for the (un)workshop, a one day photography workshop, organized and taught by Rachel Durik of Savor Photography.

In one short day Rachel covered photography A to Z.  She is not only an excellent photographer but a wonderful teacher who is willing to share her knowledge and experience with her students.

Another day would have made the (un)workshop perfect or maybe it was my need for more fresh air and a relaxing environment.

A big thanks to Rachel for a fantastic (un)workshop but an even bigger thanks to my parents who trusted me with their car (scary considering I can’t remember the last time I drove a vehicle with four wheels) and offered me points to stay at a local hotel.

I’m not sure I would have done the trip without their help and I’m so glad I did!

I watched nephew No. 1 play baseball Saturday afternoon.

Well I wasn’t really watching, I was listening to the parents support their kids and the coach (who my brother advised was having a quiet day) scream at the team.

It was a real suburban experience.

But more importantly I was also photographing. Not a lot but maybe enough to get myself a job photographing suburban kid sports.

Nephew No. 2 promises to sell my services in exchange for some chocolate.

And in case you are wondering, yes my nephew’s team won.

With the recent rains new flowers are blooming and Tudor City Greens have become very green.

However, my iPhone and are thankful that the rain has stopped and the sun is finally shining again.

The lush green colors are beautiful.

And there are also a few pinks and not just in the flowers.
