A friend, who lives in Paris, recently told me that he sees me more often than friends who live on the other side of Paris.
Understandably as commuting across a large city or to a neighboring suburb is like traveling to a foreign country.
But in the past few months I have traveled to more boroughs and suburbs than all my years living in New York.
I don’t need a passport, just my bicycle, a Metrocard if it’s raining, and a camera and surprisingly I really like it.
For those of you who have never ventured beyond Manhattan here are a few of the sights and scenes you have been missing.
And yes these shots plus editing where all done in my iPhone… I’m a little obsessed.
Enjoy!

I’m in constant communication with friends in France, we email weekly to keep up with everything going on in our lives. It fills the gap between seeing each other twice a year.
My friends write in French and I respond in English. On occasion there is an effort to switch but I love hearing in their own words what’s going.
However, in the past two weeks I have become slightly obsessed with sending them pictures from my iPhone with a short title (some in English, some in French) instead of emails.
These images sum up a moment, they know where I am, what I’m experiencing and can enjoy the moment with me.
It’s a visual break that transports them to New York. I smile every time I hit send.
These iPhone images continue to surprise me. Whether shooting or editing right in the phone I can’t get enough.
I hope these images offer everyone a small visual break… or maybe another reason to run to Apple and buy an iPhone.
Enjoy!

I thought by now I would be entrenched in learning Spanish but the digital darkroom has become my latest learning challenge.
Some people don’t believe in editing photos, personally I see both sides. Some photos I never touch and others I could play all night with colors and tones.
Editing photos is an art of its own. It’s a transition from digital photographer to digital artist.
I’m still discovering this art form but I love it. I hope you like it too.
Enjoy!

Every week the photography blog I Heart Faces does a weekly photo challenge. The challenge gives me inspiration and helps me think about photos I have never shared before (Riccardo’s French Fan Club will be very happy).
This week’s theme is “Bundled Up” to celebrate the cold weather that many of us have been experiencing (we need to find the good in the freezing temps, right?).
These photos were taken in London, crossing Millennium Bridge on the way to the Tate Modern. It was FREEZING but my friend Riccardo was about to bust out in a huge smile.
The smile may be because he is sporting a fancy new winter coat or simply because Italians love to have their picture taken but either way I love these photos of Riccardo – He knows how to find the good in everything even freezing cold temperatures.
Baci e Abbracci Ric!
Enjoy!
